EDUCATIONAL MODEL

Let’s start from the beginning

Princess Margaret International School is an international school. Language is the principal mean of expression and the main factor in cultural integration. The impeccable command of the three languages, the two existing in Catalonia as well as English to the same level form part of the same aim: To foster fluent communication between people of different cultures through an enriching exchange of ideas.

Personalised education is one of the basic principles of Princess Margaret International School. But what is personalised education? It is the distillation of personalisation, by fostering the aptitudes and abilities of each student, and socialisation, by moulding the social aspects of the personality.

We all possess a special talent in one discipline or other so it is necessary to discover what it is and how to strengthen it. In conjunction with this aspect is the work on the multiple intelligences. Linking the professional future of a student to their talent signifies establishing solid bases for their happiness.

Personalised education is manifested at different levels:

WELL-ROUNDED EDUCATION

This refers to human as much as academic education of students so that they can assume both personal and professional future responsibilities.

ACTIVE TEACHING

This deals with attaining full development of intellectual abilities of the student by means of active participation in learning.

FORMATIVE AND SUMMATIVE EVALUATION

This deals with always being aware of the evolution of the learning process in order to best direct it. The aim is to fully take advantage of teaching, being able to correct, reinforce or speed up the pace.

PERSONAL GUIDANCE

We consider school to be the educational community as composed of teachers, students and parents. The relationship between these parties is fundamental to guide the student in their personal development. The aim is to provide the student with the tools for self- and worldly knowledge so that they know how to react consistently and responsibly when confronted by any situation they may find themselves in.

FREEDOM

We speak of freedom, which foments the acquisition of ethical and moral norms and principles basic for coexistence. It is only in this way that the concepts of respect, solidarity, friendship, cooperation and empathy can take shape and acquire content as well as be present in all educational tasks firstly, and later, in the lives of each and every one of the students.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS

Now more than ever, in a global and multi-cultural environment, do we consider it fundamental to have an education which makes us feel proud of our different cultures and customs and which are open to other values and traditions.
