HISTORY

An old dream, a new school concept

A school is the place our children grow through learning which they shall apply throughout their lives. It is one of the key factors in determining who they will become in the future: The school with its projects, determines the future of our society.
How will our children turn out? How are we to educate them so that they build a better society?

These are surely among some of the questions we pose ourselves when considering what a school is and how it ought to be. They are also some of the self-same questions Mrs. Gaos posed herself when founding Princess Margaret International School in 1967.

THE INCEPTION OF THE PRINCESS MARGARET INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL

Princess Margaret International School came into existence as an English school at a time when French was predominantly studied. Mrs. Gaos together with Mrs. Ruhí (Noddy Nursery School) reckoned on an international scenario which included a language which has nowadays become the lingua franca around the world. English treated as a valued further language from day one and not merely as an after-thought.

A SCHOOL WHICH CONSTANTLY ASKS ITSELF WHAT IT CAN DO TO IMPROVE

A school is not only how it comes into existence but also how it evolves. The world is changing and schools need to adapt. In the year 2000 Princess Margaret International School consolidated its project by extending the facilities, integrating new technologies, incorporating the E.S.O. thereby extending coverage of academic cycles.

Currently Princess Margaret International School is an international school of note in Barcelona, with strong Catalan roots, integrated into the local district and with a creative and pro-active spirit defining not only who we are but also what we want to be. Our size allows us to provide individualised attention to the students through smaller groups, in turn allowing us to create our own optimum atmosphere for intensive, participative and cross-curricular learning.
